Dean of Students Development Fund - Wellness Eagles
The purpose of this fund is to provide discretionary dollars to support the Dean of Students Division of Student Affairs at The University of Southern Mississippi.
Please note that this scholarship is for the Wellness Eagles program. Wellness Eagles will:
+ Participate in workshops, discussions, and impactful and engaging holistic wellness programs
+ Understand the impact of experiential learning and utilizing campus experts for health information
+ Be responsible, enthusiastic, and dedicated student leaders
+ Model healthy behaviors to their peers
+ Discover needs and advocate for resources and change to enable the student body to lead healthier and more successful lives

Goals of Wellness Eagles Peer Ed:
- Present health and wellness education programs to the USM community
- Get involved with planning and implementing daily wellness outreach efforts across campus
- Develop a student-driven effort to create a healthier campus
- Present education for peers related to well-being practices, mental health, alcohol and other drug use and misuse, sexual health issues and sexual assault prevention, as well as stress, and sleep.
- Gain practical work experience in implementing health awareness programs
- Impact USM's campus in creative, fun, inspiring ways
- Be a positive and contributing member of a fun team
Qualifications:
- You must be an actively enrolled USM student with GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Qualified students must have completed two semesters of college post-high school.
- Have a demonstrated interest in the areas of mental health and wellness, sexual health, sexual recovery, responsibility regarding alcohol and other drugs, stress management, and/or sleep hygiene
- You must be able to serve as a positive role model
- You must be able to work well in a team environment
- You must be able to attend mandatory staff meetings and training events (dates TBA).
