Major General Rexford H. Dettre, Jr. Duty-Honor-Country Annual Scholarship

The purpose of this fund is to provide a one-time scholarship for an eligible University of Southern Mississippi student who is a military veteran or active duty service member (to include National Guard and Reserve component). In honor of the scholarship namesake, eligible students must have demonstrated a commitment to the values of Duty, Honor and Country along with a resolute desire of service to others. Students must submit a single page double-spaced essay describing the meaning of “Duty, Honor and Country” as it applies to their respective lives. Consideration will be given to proven leadership experience, cumulative GPA, campus and community service. The student must present release from military service documents (DD-214) or other proof of scholarship eligibility.
