Bates-Sisemore Excellence in Maternal-Child Nursing Award Fund

The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships using the following selection criteria: 2.5 minimum GPA in Nursing courses; 3.0 in Maternal Child courses; written 500-word essay detailing the applicant’s career plans and interest in Maternal or Child Health Nursing, to be submitted to Maternal-Child Nursing faculty by October 15 for fall award and March 15 for spring award to the coordinator of Student Services; recommendation and selection of awardee will be made from the course faculty in Maternal and Child Health Nursing courses on the Hattiesburg campus; students must have completed either the maternal course or the child health course when application is submitted and be enrolled in good standing in all courses; the coordinator of student services will send student awardee name and essay each semester to Professors Bates and Lundy; award to be given each December and May to one student presented during the awards or recognition ceremony; amount $150. This undergraduate award is given in honor of Professor Lucy Bates and the late Professor Mary Sisemore by Drs. Joel C. and Karen Saucier Lundy.
