Luckyday Residential Scholar

Scholarship for continuing Luckyday Scholars who are choosing to live in Luckyday Citizenship Hall for the 2022-2023 Academic Year and abide by the stated requirements and stipulations.

Luckyday Hall is an award-winning, living learning community that is intentionally designed to promote community building, student engagement, and academic success. The Luckyday Foundation has offered to provide additional scholarship support for the 2022-2023 academic year for continuing Luckyday Scholars who apply to live in Luckyday Hall, who are in good standing with the Luckyday Program, who have remaining unmet cost of attendance for fall and spring semester, and who agree to invest in Luckyday community development and servant leadership that we value in this program. To accept this scholarship, you must agree to and abide by the stipulations that are in place to guide your participation in the Luckyday living/learning community.

Stipulations for the Luckyday Living Community Scholarship:

  • Be an active member of my floor by participating in and offering to assist with RA and mentor programming when needed.
  • Seek to invest in others and demonstrate a commitment to the successful functioning and growth of the residential community.
  • Remain aware and supportive the Luckyday program opportunities through the Weekly Word and other communications.
  • Practice good stewardship of the living environment. This includes but is not limited to: helping create and upholding community standards ensuring that dishes are washed and stored right after use and not left in the sink, placing dishes and other cooking items in their proper place, removing personal items from the laundry room in a timely fashion, and keeping the lounge area clean by removing personal items when you leave.
  • Follow all policies of Housing and Residence Life and support the residential hall staff.
  • Follow the Code of Student Conduct (https://www.usm.edu/student-affairs/code-student-conduct.php) and the Southern Miss Creed (https://www.usm.edu/student-affairs/creed-southern-miss.php)

  1. Luckyday Residential Scholar Commitments
    • I commit to attending the Residential Scholar Orientation meetings to be held, May and/or August on dates to be determined after review of schedules and any additional Residential Scholar meetings over the course of the 2024-2025 academic year.
    • I will commit to being an active member of my floor by participating in RA and mentor programming when needed.
    • I will commit to being aware and supportive of the Luckyday program opportunities through reading the Weekly Word and staying aware of other communications.
    • I will commit to interacting with and supporting first year students in their transition to the University and the Luckyday community.
