Dr. James H. McPhail Professor Emeritus Scholarship Endowment

The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a full-time student preferably from a rural area who is pursuing a master’s degree in P-12 Educational Administration who has financial need. The scholarship may also be given to a worthy doctoral candidate meeting the aforementioned criteria. Preference may be given to students who are the first in their family to pursue an advanced degree. If a student with financial need cannot be identified, the financial need criterion may be waived. If the P-12 Educational Administration degree program ceases to exist, the Dean of the College of Education and Human Sciences may direct the scholarships to the teacher education program. Preference is to have two scholarships for master’s candidates with each receiving half of the spending allocation. In the event there is a doctoral candidate who is especially in need and meets the majority of the requirements, a single scholarship may be awarded for one year to that student.
