All Opportunities

The Golden Opportunities Scholarship and Competitive Programs Application System (GO System) is the hub for all scholarships at The University of Southern Mississippi. It houses a variety of scholarship opportunities for incoming and continuing students (both undergraduate and graduate). Over 900 scholarships, including opportunities for USM Foundation Scholarships, Freshman and Transfer Academic and Designation-Based scholarships, the Luckyday Scholars Program, Honors College Incoming Freshman Admission and Scholarships, and academic/interest awards.

Note that students must be admitted to the university in order to access the scholarship portal.

Step 1: To begin applying for and accepting scholarships, students must sign in with their Campus ID (Wxxxxxx) and SOAR password.

Step 2: Complete and submit the general application. A green check mark means you have successfully submitted the application.

Automatch Scholarships: Once you complete your General Application, you will be matched with scholarships for which you immediately qualify. All students who qualify will be auto-matched to these opportunities. Qualifying does not guarantee you will receive a scholarship. If awarded, students will receive an email to their USM email account requesting they log in and accept their award. Automatch scholarships will appear with “None” listed under the “Action” column, which means an additional application is not required for consideration. The “Deadline” column indicates the deadline to complete the application to receive consideration. This is not the deadline to accept the award.

Award Amount: The number and award amount of scholarships are for general information purposes only and should not be considered a guarantee of what you will receive if selected. Actual award amounts vary based on students’ individual eligibility, funds available and other factors.

Step 3: To see a list of all scholarships administered in the GO System, click the “Opportunities” tab at the top of the page, then select the All drop-down link to view and/or apply for additional scholarships that may apply to you. This list shows all scholarships in the GO System., so please note you may not qualify for all scholarships listed.

If there is an apply to button, then there may be additional application materials required. All of these apply-to awards will show up under your Recommended tab to ensure you are able to view these options if applicable.

Step 4: Check your USM email address throughout the year for University scholarship offers and instructions on how to accept.

Step 5: If offered a scholarship, accept the scholarship in GO and complete additional post-acceptance steps (if applicable).
The post-acceptance step is simply a thank-you note to the donor that must be submitted on your behalf.
